Scammers are becoming increasingly sophisticated. They may call, text, or email you pretending to be a Sparrow employee and ask for sensitive information.

Things to look out for:

• Phone number and email spoofing: Scammers can easily “spoof” phone numbers and emails, meaning they can send you a text, email, or even call you from what appears to be the Sparrow phone number or email.
• Requesting One-Time Passcodes (OTP): Scammers may trigger an OTP with your phone number and use spoofing to get this information.
• Phishing, Vishing, and Smishing: Scammers may try to contact you to trick you into clicking a link, opening an attachment, or asking for personal information through email (phishing), voice call (vishing), or SMS (smishing).

Do not share information with someone contacting you, even if it appears to be from Sparrow. Remember, we will NEVER contact you to ask you for sensitive information. If in doubt, ignore the text/email, or hang up and call the customer service phone number printed on the back of your card to ensure you are reaching the Sparrow team directly.

There are scammers and bots that try to exploit OTPs to gain unauthorized access to accounts. If you receive an unexpected OTP, do not share this code with anyone. If you receive a call from Sparrow, hang up and call the customer service phone number printed on the back of your card to reach our team directly.
